Jack Stibich was all over the field to lead
the Hinsdale Falcons Varsity football team to an 8-6 win over
the Elmhurst Eagles.
Stibich scored on a 6-yard touchdown run, returned an
interception 58 yards that sealed the win and recorded seven
tackles on defense.
Josh Rogers and Paul Ramos sacked the Eagles' quarterback in the
end zone for a critical safety that gave the Falcons an 8-0 lead
going into halftime.
In addition to leading the Falcons with 127 yards on 24 carries,
Collin Fahey blocked an Eagles' extra point in the fourth
quarter. Calvin Casper, Cole Potkul, David Wilk and Steven
Galiniak turned in an outstanding all-around defensive effort.
Hinsdale Falcons
115-pound Silver (white) 14, Elgin Patriots 0: George
Cote capped off a dominating opening drive of more than eight
minutes with a touchdown run. Cote, Shelby Parsons, Karl Grimm
and Jack Liljeberg all contributed to the shutout in addition to
efforts in the secondary from Kevin Roberts and Caleb Koerbel.
Another Cote run in the fourth quarter set up a touchdown pass
from John Ryan to Aaron Walsh to cement the win. Spencer
Groenwold, Brian Hoffman, Brian Roberts, Robert McGivney,
Liljeberg and Grimm as well as tight end Henry Lang-VanDerlaan
dominated Elgin's defense. Jonathan Helm, Quinn Kuhlmann, Syed
Samiuddin and Jonah Heiser played key roles on special teams.

100-pound Gold 15, West Chicago 0: The Falcons (2-1)
earned their second consecutive shutout behind linebackers
Michael O'Doherty (team-best 6 tackles), Alex Jeannin, Andrew
Davis (4 tackles and a sack) and Michael Lord (4 tackles). Free
safety Sam MacKenzie, cornerback Ben Stefani and cornerback
Rorey Seligmann also provided great coverage as West Chicago was
limited to one completion for 8 yards in the game. Defensive
tackles Jack Paulson (2 sacks), Jack Regan and Peter Deering,
along with nose guards Jack Dolan (3 tackles) and Matthew Allen
(4 tackles) also led the way.
Offensively, quarterback Kevin Hale (5 of 6, 72 yards) and tight
end Matthew Muellner hooked up with for a 25-yard gain before
following that up with a 17-yard TD pass. Tight end Andrew
Stockmal broke a tackle to earn the two-point conversion. Key
blocking from center Patrick Drew, left guard Seligmann, right
guard O'Doherty, Muellner and tight end Danny Bergdoll opened
holes for running back Ben Stefani (49 yards, 10 carries), who
had a 1-yard TD run. Running back Trevor Paul (48 yards, 9
carries) ran in the extra point.
Linebacker James Benak made an important open field tackle on
the ensuring kickoff.
Hinsdale Falcons
90-pound Gold 35, West Chicago Wildcats 0: The Falcons
improved to 3-0 as fullback Nate Laing began the scoring with a
25-yard run and quarterback Thomas Ives punched in the extra
point. Mark Dykstra returned a Wildcats punt 60 yards for the
Falcons' second score. The blocking of Johnny Campbell, Nick
Jung and Weston Berger allowed Dykstra to add a 30-yard run
around the right side for his second score. Dykstra returned
another punt for a TD in the second half.
The Falcons' defense allowed only three first downs. The
tackling of Jack Clark, Charles Heimke, Jimmy Thompson, Will
Renehan, Michael Lohmeier and Tommy Morrone and to stellar play
of linebackers Sean Neveril and Grant Pitcher and safeties Nate
Morrison and Shah-Zeed Raja helped Hinsdale earn its second
consecutive shutout.
