The Hinsdale Falcons 100 Gold team improved their record to 4 –
3 by recording their 4th shutout of the year defeating the
Streamwood Falcons 34 – 0 at Hinsdale’s home Brook Park.
Hinsdale’s Sam MacKenzie took the opening kickoff 70 yards for a
touchdown off a reverse from QB Kevin Hale to start the game,
giving the Falcons a 6 – 0 lead. Streamwood then mounted a
strong offensive drive and got down to the Hinsdale 14 yard line
before Linebacker Alex Jeannin (6 tackles), came up with two big
hits to stop the drive. The Hinsdale Falcon offense took over
and drove 86 yards on 4 plays capped by a 66 yard touchdown run
by MacKenzie. MacKenzie ran untouched thanks to the amazing
blocking of LT Michael Lord, LG Rorey Seligman, C Patrick Drew,
RG Michael O’Doherty, RT Jeannin, RB Trevor Paul and TE’s Danny
Bergdoll and Matthew Muellner. RB Ben Stefani (3 carries, 29
yards), ran in the extra point to give the Falcons a 13 – 0
lead. Later in the first half the Hinsdale offense added another
score with FB Charlie Emmons’ 2 yard run (4 carries, 45 yards,
and 5 tackles on defense). This gave Hinsdale a commanding 19-0
lead at halftime.
In the second half the Hinsdale defense really took it to
Streamwood holding them to 1 first down and negative overall
yardage for the entire half. The defense recorded 4 sacks and 4
tackles for losses totaling negative 36 yards. This doomsday
defense was lead by MLB James Benak (9 tackles, 2 sacks for
negative 7 yards), DT Jack Paulson (5 tackles, 1 sack for
negative 8 yards and 1 tackle for a 4 yard loss), NG Matthew
Allen (2 tackles, one for negative 3 yards), DT Jack Regan (3
tackles), DE Muellner (1 sack for negative 10 yards and 1
tackles for a 3 yard loss), DT Peter Deering (2 tackles) and NG
Jack Dolan who caused and recovered a fumble. The Hinsdale
offense continued to dominate as MacKenzie ran 35 yards for his
3rd touchdown of the day. QB Hale added the icing on the cake by
throwing a rocket pass right to TE Bergdoll for a 2 point
conversion increasing Hinsdale’s lead to 27 – 0. MacKenzie would
finish the day with 7 carries for 149 yards, and an additional
93 yards on one kickoff and one punt return. FB Andrew Davis
completed Hinsdale’s offensive dominance with a powerful 2 yard
touchdown run. RB Dolan ran in the conversion giving Hinsdale a
34 – 0 victory. The Hinsdale offense never faced a 4th down in
the entire game and rushed the ball 23 times for 286 yards..
